SESSION SUMMARY:
Bob Bench will provide an overview of Central Bank Digital Currency and the Federal Reserve’s role with Project Hamilton, a multi-year joint technology research program with Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Digital Currency Initiative. The session will end with a Q&A session and Russell Wong will join Bob to assist with questions and provide his views on how the Federal Reserve is evaluating opportunities and challenges regarding centralized digital currencies.

2. Why should we care about CBDCs? What is the use case?
3. Why is the Federal Reserve researching general purpose CBDC?
