TOPIC: Transcending Communication Challenges - Reflections and Lessons to Share of Perseverance

SESSION SUMMARY: Effective Communication is what we all strive for! What if you could not hear? Get ready to navigate high and low points with many obstacles relating to deafness and how someone has successfully transcended. Cristina Childers will share how she developed her own communication approach over many years of problem solving along her path. She has developed enormous dreams and will share stories from life in the Romanian Revolution, coming to the USA from Romania, learning gesture and movement of the body and learning American Sign Language (ASL). Through this inspiring journey, you'll understand what reasonable accommodation means and maybe even further your vocabulary with a few words and phrases in ASL.

Participation Requirements for CPE Programs: To receive CPE credit for participation in a CAFP training program, you must sign-in at by the end of the session. You will receive an email notification once the attendance record has been processed including instructions on how to access your CPE certificate.
VSCPA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.learningmarket.org.
