TOPIC:  Dynamic Fraud & Risk Strategy

SESSION SUMMARY: 

Fighting fraud is a team effort between many parties including banks, law enforcement, regulators, and your organization. We will discuss some of the more common fraud schemes that are perpetrated against organizations and how they can protect themselves and aid in the fraud fight. Digital identity risk and new account opening, payments fraud, internal fraud. They all present risk to an organization regardless of geography and industry. You and your organization have a role to play in the fight against this formidable opponent.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 

  • Awareness of common fraud schemes perpetrated on companies and other organizations
  • Identity risk and what the organization can do to protect itself
  • Digital identity risk.  Do you know who is on the other end of the device?
  • Check fraud is back.  Some things to know to protect the organization


COST:  Members=FREE /Non-members= $180 for all Spring Training Series sessions or a la carte pricing:  $35 per webex session/$150 for in person May 6th (includes 3 in person sessions & Breakfast/lunch)

1.5 CPE Credits and 1.5 CTP/FP&A Credits in the field of Specialized Knowledge provided by VSCPA (CPE) & CAFP (CTP/FP&A). 


Participation Requirements for CPE Programs

To receive CPE credit for participation in a CAFP program, you must attend & actively participate in the full session.  You will receive an email notification once the attendance record has been processed including instructions on how to access your CPE certificate.

          

VSCPA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.learningmarket.org.
