Letter from the President 2024-2025
Welcome! On behalf of the Board of the Commonwealth Association for Financial Professionals (“CAFP”), we are glad you are here. We have another great year planned, full of interesting & relevant programming.
The CAFP provides finance professionals in Central Virginia and the surrounding areas a dynamic forum to exchange concepts, techniques, and strategies related to improving finance, treasury and accounting functions.
Membership is open to individuals, companies and government/non-profit entities. Most members and guests are those who provide finance, treasury, accounting, banking or a consultative type services and most Richmond area employers are represented in our membership - from all sectors - corporates, governmental, non-profit, education and banking.
We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!
Our monthly meetings typically start in September and offer you the opportunity to learn and collaborate about relevant finance subject matter together. This year we also held a best practices roundtable that was very well received. Members also enjoy social networking events during the year. Our season culminates in May, with our spring training sessions - focusing on a variety of topics in the finance and treasury management fields. As a member of the CAFP, you are invited to all of our events, virtual and in person, socials and we encourage you to invite a guest.
The CAFP recognizes the significance of attaining the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Certified Corporate FP&A Professional (FPAC), Certified Public Accounting (CPA), Certified Management Accountants (CMA) and Certified Cash Manager (CCM) designations. Therefore, our meetings qualify for CTP/FPAC and CPE credits.
I encourage you to add our meeting dates to your calendar now. Please arrive early to each meeting so you can network with us - most of Richmond's business community. Through our regular monthly meetings and capstone spring training sessions, you will have the opportunity to earn at least 15 continuing professional education credits annually, exceeding the minimum requirements established by the Association for Financial Professionals. You can find details of each meeting on our Calendar tab.
I truly hope you will consider joining by completing the easy online application. Should you have any questions or comments, please contact our Vice President of Membership or me at CAFPBoard@gmail.com.
We look forward to "seeing" you at an upcoming event!
Best regards,
Leslie Hardesty, MBA, CTP
